Welcome

Welcome to the OTGS website. The site is interactive and should make things run very smoothly and easily for everyone. It is self-explanatory - though of course there is a comprehensive “help” section. I hope it will be well received!

There are many attractive fixtures so do apply - via the website if possible.

Geoff Clay has eased his way into the Presidency with some style and Colin Vokins is our enthusiastic and wise Captain until March 2010.

We won the Halford Hewitt in April, our eighth win since 1990 under the captaincy of Geoff Clay, beating the Old Merchant Taylors' in the final. Our team in the Final was (not in order) Geoff Clay and George Taggart, Bryan Ingleby and Peter Saggers, Ed Richardson and Christo Lloyd, Richard Partridge and Jason Foster and finally John Spurling and Jonathan Hubbard.

Our defence of the Bernard Darwin trophy took place at Woking on 2nd and 3rd of July, beating Charterhouse in the final. It is nice to report that we equalled the record held by John Thompson's OT team in the eighties by winning it for the fourth year in a row - but this time with an with an unchanged team for all four years under our Darwin Captain, Jonathan Hubbard. He and Tony Monteuuis played together and won the deciding match at the 21st hole. Tim Jenkins played top with Geoff Clay and Martin Yates and Peter Saggers were the strong rearguard and won all their matches.

We failed to retain the Senior Darwin this year, though to compensate we did win the Littlestone Invitation Foursomes and the Royal Wimbledon Public Schools Putting Competition for the first time. Bryan Ingleby was the hero here winning every match and then the play-off match as well.
