The formula for this match is two rounds of foursomes, at a weekend, on the two excellent courses at The Berkshire against very nice opposition plus an outstanding full lunch, all for the exceptional value of £55 per head including wine. Not only that but we had lovely early autumn weather too. On paper only, the OTs looked to be outclassed by a side of Old Marlburians with generally lower handicaps but the OT side was a particularly competitive bunch, each carefully selected by the manager for his well-known match winning capabilities, and so it proved with a facile victory for the OTs by 6 1/2 to 1 1/2 .
