Winter Meeting
| Date: | 13th November 2008 |
| Venue: | Seaford G.C. |
Result: Very enjoyable
The Winter Meeting at Seaford. 13th and 14th November.
Report from Colin Vokins
There was a slightly disappointing attendance but once again Seaford looked after us very well and the course provided a good challenge, despite the unusual lack of wind.
On Thursday four pairs played a better ball. The scoring was very close. Two pairs scored 41 points, the other two 40. This enabled the captain to carry out a creative count back in which he emerged as the winner. Much of the credit goes to his partner, Peter Morris, who holed a five footer at the last as if it was totally routine.
On Friday three more members joined the party. Amongst them was David Golding-Wood seeking to defend his title. He had a great game playing with Jonathon Steed who scored 38 points but David was up to the challenge and made an excellent 39 points.
Several members expressed the wish to return next year so the meeting will be in the fixture list again. It is a most enjoyable end of season event and all members would be most welcome.
