Report
The Veteran Darwin at Woking on 17th June. Report from David Biddle
Our one pair...David Biddle and Graham Dudley much enjoyed their partnership. It had been in the early 70s that they had last been a pair, in the Hewitt. The contest, for the over 75s, comprises 18 holes Stableford, played off scratch, though with a generous standard scratch.
Supported by our Captain and Hon. Sec. they started strongly by scoring 16 points after 9 holes despite two 3 putts. Then luck turned out not to be a lady - and despite a career-best shot out of the deepest rough short of the 7th to 2 feet, shots slipped away and only 10 more points were carded. 26 points was a score not to be ashamed of, and only 6 short of the winners...(Eton for the 4th. time running).
Any members over 75 are welcome to play and we are allowed as many pairs as we wish. Please let David Biddle know if you wish to be included next year
